Skills at Library put on various events throughout the year to showcase the range of support and development opportunities available to students. Events take place in-person and online, so there’s something for everyone!
Skills at Library workshops are a great opportunity to practice information skills, learn alongside your peers, and get instructor feedback. Our 8 core workshops are offered regularly online and in person, and will take you through the basics of using the Library and on to more advanced information literacy skills needed for academic study and research. Sessions are aimed at undergraduates and PGT students, but they are open to all members of the University of Essex.
On Track is a workshop programme that offers PGT students with support in researching and writing a Master's dissertation. It is offered once a year in June, and sessions cover finding literature or data, managing references, and more! Workshops are delivered by staff from a range of areas, including the Library, Skills for Success, IT Services, and Wellbeing.
Skills Fest is a fair event that showcases the wide range of support and skill development opportunities offered to students across the University of Essex.
This event brings together teams from Library and Cultural Services, Skills for Success, Technology Enhanced Learning, Digital Innovation and Technology Solutions, Student Wellbeing and Inclusivity, Skills@Essex, Careers Services and the Funding Team.
