Skills at Library put on various events throughout the year to showcase the range of support and development opportunities available to students. Events take place across all three campuses, in-person as well as online, so there’s something for everyone!
On Track is a workshop programme that offers PGT students with support in researching and writing a Master's dissertation. It is offered once a year in June, and sessions cover finding literature or data, managing references, and more! Workshops are delivered by staff from a range of areas, including the Library, Skills for Success, IT Services, and Wellbeing.
Skills Fest is a multi-day fair and workshops event that showcases the wide range of support and skill development opportunities offered to students across the University of Essex.
This event brings together teams from Library and Cultural Services, Skills for Success, Technology Enhanced Learning, Digital Innovation and Technology Solutions, Student Wellbeing and Inclusivity, Skills@Essex, Careers Services and the Funding Team.
The Library runs regular Focus Weeks to highlight the support that we and teams across the University offer on specific topics.
We use these weeks to collate our current support in one place and offer additional training, making them great opportunities to find out more and brush up your understanding of these areas.
