Longstanding collaborative project to try and obtain comparable data across countries by using standardised questionnaires. Surveys began in 1987 and are carried out approximately every 5 years (however, none since 2004/2005). The initial focus on European countries has been extended to include other nations. At intervals of several years (or more) ISRD collects data on juvenile delinquency and victimization from comparable samples. It uses a standardized self-report survey conducted among students aged 12-16, randomly selected from schools in two medium or large cities.
