Online Journals and Journal Databases

On this page you will find useful links to databases that, in addition to the Library Catalogue, contain articles of relevance to those carrying out research in the field of psychoanalytic studies. PEPWeb contains a full text archive of most leading psychoanalytic journals. It is, however, worth noting that many journals on PEPWeb have a three or five year moving wall (embargo on current content), which means that recent articles can usually only be accessed if the Library has a subscription to the journal in which they appear. Check the online coverage provided for individual journals or articles by doing a title search in the library catalogue.

Please note that a few specialist journals are primarily available in print format, including these Jungian periodicals:

The journal is in process of being made freely available online
Spring : a journal of archetype and culture (classmark: BF 1.S7, 1942-2015)

PEPWeb
PEP-Web contains the complete text and illustrations of over 80 journals and around 140 classic books in psychoanalysis. Includes the full text and editorial notes of the 24 volumes of the Standard Edition of the Complete Psychological Works of Sigmund Freud. Some journals have an embargo on recently published volumes: check the article or journal details in the library catalogue to get access to this content through library subscriptions to these journals

American Psychiatric Association - journals
We have access to the American Journal of Psychiatry (1997-) and other journals through the Library subscription to the APA Psychiatry Online platform, (as well as access to DSM-V and other book content)

Taylor & Francis Online (Routledge) are a major publisher in psychoanalysis and related subjects. Provides access to quite a number of journals in psychoanalysis (especially recent volumes of journals that are embargoed on PEPWeb) as well as some book content (note: book content is on a separate website).
