Laptop Loans are available to all students across all 3 campuses. You can borrow up to one laptop at a time and you will need your Essex student/staff card to borrow and return. 

Colchester and Southend: 

• Laptops can be loaned for either 3 or 6 hours and can be used anywhere on the Colchester or Southend campus (except accommodation).
• If you do not return the laptop at the end of the loan period you will be charged £1 per hour or part of an hour, until it is returned.
• The laptop is your responsibility whilst you have borrowed it until it is returned to the locker and you will be liable for any loss or damage to the laptop, please do not leave it unattended or borrow on behalf of someone else.
• The use and loans of laptops is governed by the University Regulations for IT Users and Library regulations

Loughton:

• Laptops can be loaned during library opening hours and must be returned by library closing (i.e. they cannot be borrowed overnight) and used anywhere on the Loughton campus.
• If you do not return the laptop before library closing time you will be charged £1 per hour or part of an hour, until it is returned. Opening hours can be checked online. 
• The laptop is your responsibility whilst you have borrowed it until it is returned to the locker and you will be liable for any loss or damage to the laptop, please do not leave it unattended or borrow on behalf of someone else.
• The use and loans of laptops is governed by the University Regulations for IT Users and Library regulations
