Books and Films: Introduction

To find books (including e-books), screenplays and films on DVD/Blu-Ray in the library, you'll need to use Library Search. Library Search enables you to search the library catalogue and also other resources - you can search by keyword (topic), author or title.

Our DVDs and Blu-Rays are kept on floor 5, and you can borrow them for 7 days. You may renew them for a further period as long as they are not required by another library user.

Many films are also available to watch via Box of Broadcasts.

Screen Studies is a dynamic digital platform designed to support film studies. It includes a wide range of content, including books, screenplays, overview articles and learning resources from Bloomsbury, Faber & Faber, the British Film Institute, Focal Press and Auteur.

Box of Broadcasts (BoB)
Box of Broadcasts (BoB) is an off-air recording and media archive service. It provides a full archive of TV and radio content back to around 2007 for 9 key UK channels, and includes many different feature films. BoB also allows you to create clips and compile your favourite content into playlists.

Kanopy is an on-demand streaming video platform, including films, documentaries, classic cinema, and foreign films. You are not required to create an account on the Kanopy website - clicking "skip" at this stage will allow access to content.
