Following latest Government guidance:
From Tuesday 4th May the opening hours of The Forum will extend to the following:
Browsing 9 – 5pm
The Info Point will now be staffed for 2 hours a day (12 - 2pm, Mon - Fri).
The Library has now reopened for browsing and choosing your own books at Southend between 10am-4pm Monday - Saturday (closed Sundays). There is no need to book but numbers will be restricted to 25 people browsing at any one time. Students and staff should limit browsing time to no more than 20 minutes. These restrictions apply to the first and ground floor only – the Learning Hub remains open 24/7 and study spaces should be booked in advance. The click and collect service will continue to run alongside browsing.
All book loans from the Forum will be extended until 10th May 2021. Short and Long loans have temporarily been set to 5 weeks.

As of Monday 20th January University long loan books borrowed from The Forum will change to 3 week loan periods. This is to bring them in line with public library books and simplify loan periods. As always, students will receive a notification before books are due back and can renew online.
University of Essex students have access to the Learning Hub 24/7, and from December 3rd will also have access to the books in the Forum 24/7 too.
University of Essex students will now be able to borrow books and study at a time that suits them.
The opening hours of the Library in The Forum are changing from December 3rd 2018. From Monday the new opening hours for the Library will be:
Monday to Friday - 8am - 7pm
Saturday - 8am - 5pm
Sunday - 11am - 4pm
