Who can visit?

Under current covid-19 restrictions, University of Essex students and staff members are able to visit Loughton Library and IT Centre to use our choose your own book service, book a printer, or use a pre-booked study space. If you have not been to Loughton Campus before we recommend you take a look at the East 15 website, which includes a 360 degree virtual tour of campus, so you know how to find the library when you arrive. 


We are unable to provide any parking for library visitors at the Loughton Campus.

If you need to come to Loughton by car it is possible to park locally. The East 15 website has advice on where you can legally park

If you have accessibilty requirements please contact us and we can arrange parking for you. 

Health and Safety

Loughton campus is home to East 15 Drama School. Under current Covid-19 restrictions we are still providing face-to-face teaching, and so you will encounter students and staff on site during your visit.

To help keep our campus covid-secure we ask that all library visitors do the following:

  • Please come straight to the library and do not go into any of the other buildings on site.
  • If you encounter a member of security or staff be ready to show your Essex registration card and give a reason for your visit.
  • Wear a face covering
  • Wash your hands and use the hand sanitiser points provided
  • Keep a 2-meter social distance.  
  • You will only be able to enter the library by knocking and providing your registration card.
