Updates from the Library relating to COVID-19 (Coronavirus)

The latest news on how Library Services are adapting in response to COVID-19 (Coronavirus) .

Overview of Services

Latest update: 23/03/22

Our Colchester, Loughton and Southend libraries are open as usual for students, staff and external visitors to visit us during our opening hours, to access all services, resources and study space.

We ask all users of our libraries to adopt Covid safe behaviour.

Face coverings are no longer expected to be worn in our Colchester and Loughton libraries and it is a personal choice if you continue to do so. However, we strongly encourage you to wear a face covering (unless exempt) when having a one to one appointment, e.g. using our Book a Librarian service, or when in our Theatre. Mask wearing continues to be encouraged in the public library on the ground and first floors of The Forum.

Please continue to show respect and kindness to those around you who choose to continue to wear a face covering or not.

We also encourage keeping good hand hygiene by using our antibacterial wipes and dispensers around the building.

We need to keep rooms well ventilated so windows will need to remain open and air conditioning on. This means these study spaces may be cooler than expected so please bear this in mind when using the space.

If you have any questions about our services, please contact us.
